Webster Groves, Missouri – August 22, 2023 – The Community Music School of Webster University has been named a Top Program by Kindermusik International, the world’s leading provider of music-based education for infants, toddlers, and young children.
The Community Music School of Webster University is a Kindermusik Accredited Educator which has been serving St. Louis area families since 2013. The Kindermusik Top Program award recognizes excellence in spreading the power of music and movement to young children and their families through Kindermusik’s curricula.
“Intentional, shared music-making is the best way to supercharge whole-child development because it stimulates all areas of the brain at once. The shared aspect is the icing on the cake as it leans into social-emotional growth and critical bonding between primary caregiver and child.” said Scott Kinsey, CEO at Kindermusik International. “These Top Programs—all run by Accredited Educators—are the ones who really bring everything to life by making it inclusive, playful, and sticky so that children take these joyful learning experiences with them to fuel success in school, relationships, and beyond.”
The Community Music School joins the elite company of the top early childhood music programs who offer Kindermusik classes around the world. Program leader Crystal Chu-Sharp began providing Kindermusik in 2020 and is now joined by two additional accredited educators, Aiden Smith and Elizabeth Smith. Crystal adds leadership responsibility this year after the retirement of long-time instructor and coordinator Maureen Bolain.
“We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all supporting families of the Kindermusik program in St. Louis and neighboring areas,” says Crystal Chu-Sharp. “It has always been our goal to serve our community by providing the best early childhood music program in St. Louis. We are thrilled to announce that our program has been awarded the prestigious Top Program status this year. We remain committed to continuously exploring new possibilities in curating educational programs and designing curricula that best meet the needs of our St. Louis community. We are dedicated to creating a friendly, professional, and educational environment for our students, and we look forward to continuing to serve our fellow St. Louisans and neighboring areas.”
The Community Music School is now registering for their fall semester of Kindermusik classes available in three locations – Chesterfield, Des Peres, and Webster Groves. For more information visit webster.edu/kindermusik.
