本系列讲座由华盛顿大学华裔教授协会和现代中文学校共同举办,旨在给高中生和家长们介绍大学专业和研究方向。听众将从领域专家那里深入了解各个学科,从前沿研究中汲取灵感,并获得选择大学专业和职业道路的建议。讲座向所有圣路易斯地区华人开放。

讲座一: STEM领域论坛

STEM是科学(Science),技术(Technology),工程(Engineering),数学(Mathematics)四门学科英文首字母的缩写,其中科学在于认识世界、解释自然界的客观规律;技术和工程则是在尊重自然规律的基础上改造世界、实现与自然界的和谐共处、解决社会发展过程中遇到的难题;数学则作为技术与工程学科的基础工具。

时间: 2023年2月19日(周日)下午3:30-5:00

专家简介:我们邀请了来自工程、数学和医学的教授来为大家讲解这些专业,介绍他们的研究方向和职业经验,并回答听众的提问。

This unique seminar series, co-organized by the Washington University Association of Chinese Professors and the St. Louis Modern Chinese School, is designed to introduce college majors and research to high-school students and their parents. The audience will learn about different disciplines from experts in those fields, draw inspirations from cutting-edge research, and get advice for choosing college majors and career paths.

The seminar series is open to everyone in the St. Louis Chinese community.

Introduction: Professors from Engineering, Math, and Medicine will
discuss these disciplinary areas, their research and careers. The panel
will end with a Q&A session.
